Happy New Year and welcome to The Business Guide to Government Programs. Chances are you are here because you are researching government grants and or other types of financing to start or grow your business in Canada. You have probably tried the various government sites but came away empty handed or confused. You probably found other sites charging hundreds of dollars which only adds to the frustration. Well all that is about to change.

My name is Sharon Monahan. I spent 14 years with the Government of Canada. During that time, I was personally involved in the approval of millions of dollars of Canadian government grants to finance small and big business. Since joining the private sector, I have helped my clients locate millions of dollars in Canadian government grants and loans and I can do the same for you.

I will show you what programs are available, who to contact and link you to online application forms and because the information is web-based, it is always current.

My  “Accessing Government Funding” e-book, which is free with your subscription, this month, will outline for you the correct way to apply for grants and loans based on my 14 years experience "on the inside." No one else can make that claim. For those of you who don't have the time to apply on your own, I have assembled a national network of qualified consultants who are ready to offer assistance.

The best news is, we offer all of this at a fraction of the cost of our competitors.

Here's How It Works - 5 Steps to Success.

1) Subscribe to our service online or by calling our toll free number 1 877 754 8433.

  • Within minutes, we will email you a username and password giving you access to information on all federal and provincial grants and loans. We will also email you new program announcements for the duration of your subscription.

  • Funding for individuals, not for profit and charitable organizations and causes is also included.

  • For an additional $40.00 we will snail mail you a printed copy of all of the grant and loan information. You can then use your website access to keep your printed copy up to date.

2) Read the "Accessing Government Grants and Loans" e-book, included for free with your order this month, to discover how to apply for funding correctly.

3) Select the best program for you using the program and contact information we provide and download the application right from our site. Use the business plan template and assessment criteria we give you to complete the application yourself.

4) Optional - Have your application completed or reviewed by one of our professional business consultants located throughout the country. Note there would be an additional fee for this service which you may negotiate should you decide to avail of their services.

5) Submit your application

Questions

Now that we are coming out of the recession, are there any government grants available?

Definitely. In fact you are even more likely to receive a grant during recessionary times as the government tries to kick-start the economy. Canada has many grants programs, as well as forgivable loans, tax credits, tax holidays, deferred payment plans, loan guarantees and other incentives available to small and big business.

O.K. but am I eligible for a government business grant?

Yes, you are eligible to apply if you are starting or expanding a business in Canada. Being eligible isn't enough however. That is why we give you the assessment criteria as well.

Are there Canadian government grants for certain groups such as women or youth?

While most programs are generic and applicable to anyone, there are specific grants and loans for women, youth, aboriginal persons, persons with disabilities and others.

Are there government grants or loans in Canada for my industry?

There are programs for tourism, exporting, manufacturing, technology, research, publishing, arts and culture, retail and many other sectors. Now with the recession, the list has expanded. Most of the programs however are generic. They apply to all industries.
